Beginner guide

What should you check before buying your first VPS?

Build a decision method around CPU, memory, storage, traffic and location instead of a misleading low price.

Start with the workload

Do not begin with the cheapest provider. Record the application type, expected concurrency, database size, acceptable downtime and primary user location. Specifications only make sense in context.

Break price into a checklist

Monthly compute price is only one line item. IPv4, outbound traffic, backups, snapshots, managed databases, taxes and renewals can change the total cost. Record what is included before purchase.

Narrow the field with comparable data

First filter by location, CPU, memory and budget, then compare CPU model, storage, traffic and support. This is more reliable than choosing among brand names by impression.

Confirm with official sources

Inventory and pricing change. CloudPlanScout helps build a shortlist with consistent fields, but final purchase terms must be confirmed on the provider site, checkout and terms.

Next step

Take your requirements into the plan finder and compare 2–4 candidates side by side.
